Youth meeting on education in the Caribbean Netherlands
On 25 October, the Education Council is organising a meeting on education in the Caribbean Netherlands. Young people (until the age of 30) who have educational experience on Bonaire, Sint Eustatius or Saba are welcome to join the discussion on this topic.
At the request of the minister of Education, the Education Council of the Netherlands is preparing an advisory report focusing on education in the Caribbean Netherlands. Together with the Island Committees of Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba the Education Council is looking into how the education on the islands plays a role in the Dutch education system as a whole. This is being done by looking into six major topics: multilingualism, education provision, inclusive education, transitions in education, administrative capacity and teaching staff.
Experience young people
The experience of young people is crucial. Therefore, the Education Council organises a youth meeting where we would love to hear how young people have experienced education on Bonaire, Sint Eustatius or Saba and the transition to European Netherlands. The youth meeting will take place on Friday evening October 25th in Rotterdam, from 18h00 to 21h00 (including Caribbean food and drinks). Language of communication: English
